In the Studio {preview}

Yesterday I finished printing the last round of pillow covers in a rich new color I mixed up - a metallic terra cotta. I have to draw the line somewhere or I could simply keep adding new designs and colors to my autumn pillow cover collection.  Today, the weather is much chillier in Charlotte and I'm quite satisfied locking myself away in the studio to sew, sew, sew. I feel like the new collection is really coming together! I put together this special preview just for you.

Cozy Autumn Colors from Amenity Home

It's autumn and I find myself being drawn to the warm colors of the season...gold, orange and brown. So when I visited Amenity Home's website today, I was thoroughly pleased with all of the texture, warmth and cozy alpaca wool. If you've never been to Amenity Home, you should definitely swing by soon. It's an eco-friendly store created and run by Nicole and Kristina who, by the way, are so adorable {I love their happy 'about us' photos} and committed to sustainable design. Bravo, ladies!

Hand Knitted Afghan in white, tan, and brown alpaca wool. So cozy and lovely.

Alpaca Landscape Throw Pillow in ash alpaca wool. I love this modern, geometric design.

Alpaca Macremé Throw Pillow in cocoa, nutmeg and in caramel alpaca wool.  I'll take some caramel, nutmeg and cocoa - such rich, warm colors.

These are nice...

Hello. For a while now I've been drawn to warm neutrals and mixed metallics. But lately, I'm leaning more toward greys...and mixed metallics, which is obvious when I look at my Pinterest boards and my Etsy favorites. Here are some of my favorites from Etsy that look so nice together. Can I just move all of these into my living room right now?

New Designs & Prints Ready for Sewing

I hope you're having a fine Monday! This weekend I cut into some of my new hemp fabric to test how it takes paint and washes. The fabric is a gorgeous 100% hemp linen in four colors: natural, apricot, grey, and sage in a 13 ounce weight. I love looking at all the colors together on the roll of fabric...so serene {see last photo below}.

I also printed a few more graphic patterns and now they're ready for sewing. This week I plan to sew each of the new designs into pillow covers.

Glam Beach Wedding in Navy, Gold and Pink

Glitter gold, navy and fuchsia pink with hints of red and yellow? What have I done?! It's been a long time coming, but I've finally finished my cousin's wedding inspiration board...version two. The first board was so lovely in yellow and grey, but not her style at all. She's glamorous, colorful and eclectic. This was quite a challenge for me since I adore soft neutrals, but I think she'll be happy with the new direction of her wedding style board. I'll continue to create more boards until her vision of her perfect wedding is visualized. She rocks!

Remember, her wedding will be at sunset on the beach, so all of this color will be absorbed by the sand, sky and water.  Here's what I'm imagining...the colorful layered kilim rugs and glamorous throw pillows invite guests to relax and enjoy the casual ceremony on the beach {off the sand}. The pink paper lanterns and dramatic shell-strug chandelier will be hung around the altar's canopy as a shapely and colorful focal point. The bride's embellished gown is made of a cream silk-chiffon giving it a subtly exotic edge from Temperley London. The bride's accessories - metallic bangles, a chunky, twisted and layered necklace, and carrying pink and red flowers. Shoes may not be required, but I imagine my cousin in these glitter sling backs from Jimmy Choo! The bridesmaids will be in navy blue and champagne with chunky, glittery accents. I'm not even sure if she's having a wedding cake, but I had to throw in this sensational glitter gold-frosted cake.

I've pinned many more ideas to my Pinterest board, "Cousin's Wedding" if you want to see more.
