an evening with Etsy + West Elm
Friday, December 2, 2011 It was just one night, but I was out-of-my-mind giddy to see my pillow covers displayed at the Charlotte West Elm store last night for the Etsy + West Elm Handmade Holiday Mini-Market. I'm so grateful to West Elm for hosting such an innovative, fun and community-based event for local Etsy sellers in support of handmade design. Bravo! I still can't believe they picked me, and I know the four other Etsy sellers at the event last night were thinking the same thing as our friends and over 200 people browsed the store. The West Elm associates were so helpful, like always, and they were just as excited for us...so completely supportive. West Elm even let me use their pillow inserts for my handmade pillow covers!
Below is a photo of the beautiful store window display where I displayed my pillow covers...stunning, don't you think? Thank you to all my friends and supporters who came out to the event. It was so great seeing all your smiling faces!

Angela, from Olive Yew Jewels was there displaying her gorgeous jewelry {love my new earrings!}. Her designs were featured in Self Magazine so she's been super busy creating new pieces for her Etsy shop. Congrats!
Rachel, from Marge & Rudy, was selling her beautifully made and chic handbags - all made out of leftover fabrics and leather from her husband's furniture design business. They make quite a team, and amazing handcrafted designs!
Courtney, from Wonderful Little Things, brought and nearly sold out of all her wonderful hand painted ceramic designs. By the time I took photos of her display, she only had a few pieces left! Her intricate designs look like mehendi, which is near and dear to my heart!
Claire, from Shortgrass Designs, had an adorable display! I love the sign she made and how she incorporated it into West Elm's paper mache tree. Her festive letterpress cards fit right in at West Elm's holiday gift area.
Etsy and West Elm also held a handmade workshop for making origami ornaments led by the talented ladies from Crown Town Handmade and Queen City Crafters. All the handmade ornaments turned out wonderfully and looked perfect on the tree being donated to Elon Homes and Schools for Children.

I'm now going on to Etsy to check out the shops of the other vendors who were there with you - all of their work is so beautiful. So happy for you!
